Are obsessions genetic?

All day long we put on and take off these shoes and his boots.  So my question is........are obsessions genetic?  I know growing up Matt loooooooved shoes. (He still does, but he has no one to sell them to when he is done, yes this is funny....his dad would buy him the shoes for basketball or whatever and then when Matt was done with them he would sell them back to his dad.)  Don't get any ideas Brooks because this will not fly for you.  Haha

I have to hide one pair because he get so mad that he can't wear them all at the some time.  All that I can think to do is use this as a teaching moment for some new words.
------On and Help.----

Check out this project I am doing for a friend.  He had all these fronts of sports team sweatshirts.  So I am sewing them together to make him a blanket.

It looks pretty cool, but is no where done yet.

There are some left over that I can use too!!!!  Ideas are in the works for Brooks' BIG BOY room.  (Some day...the poor kid will probably stay in his crib until he is 5 because it is hard to admit they are old enough to sleep in their own bed.  He slept in our room until he was 7 months old.  Yes 7 MONTHS!)  You know how it is, you like to hear them breathing all night long.
I can't be the only one.......?..........

Happy New Year (early)!

I don't think that I can eat anymore......

No this isn't my plate....We had our last holiday celebration yesterday and went out with a bang. (If you like meat that is)  This is a peak at my hubby's first cut of the prime rib.  Me I would rather eat all the sides and veggies.  I did have some just to see what all the fuss was about.

This Christmas was perfect.  It was fun to see family and friends.  It was hard to keep track of what day it was.  Oh well that means there was fun being had.  Onto the next holiday.............are you ready for it to be 2009?

Good morning on this white (snowing) Eve:

Looking for a lid?  Matt had made homemade chicken noodle soup for my Grandmas and we were looking for a container to use and there were no lids.  They have ended up under the stove because one little boy loves the tupperware cupboard.  Who knows maybe you have something you have been missing under your stove.  Haha

**************NEW TRADITIONS!!!!*************
Cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  It is so exciting and special to start our own family traditions.  Remembering back to all the things that we did each year as a family and now we get to do that.  The best one from when I was young would probably going to a movie every Christmas Eve to help distract from all the excitement and waiting around for church and then celebrating with family.

Look who LOOOOVED his.  ;)

Oh and since Morgan is often left out here is proof that she was not forgotten.  I thought that this toy was neat.  It is a fleece tied ball, you could almost make it from all your fleece scraps.

From our family to yours may your holiday be
 MERRY & BRIGHT.......

A fun weekend ahead.

Looking forward to a night of scraping with all the inspiration at your fingertips.  A friend and I are going to a scrap mania  tonight.  They have tables out and feed you and let you use all their die cuts and rack up a tab.  This could be dangerous!  Our only question is can you bring a sewing machine?  Hehe.
This has been a common activity this winter, watching dad use the snowblower.  Brooks loves to watch from the window and add his two cents of oohs and ahhs.
Some day buddy you will be dig enough to go out and help.  Can you only wonder what thoughts are passing through that precious head of his.
Flash back to last February......the winter we set a record for snow fall.  Can you spot our mail box?  I think we are on our way to another winter like this.  Good thing we put snow pants on our letter to santa so we can get out and play!

Hopefully everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable weekend before all the festivities start next week.

Thank you Santa!

We got a Christmas gift early.........New carpet in our family room.

We did have to do some work to get it ready.  First we stated with clearing the furniture out of the room.  Wow who know that the sofa cushions could be so much fun to climb on?
Dad got home just in time to help roll the carpet and get it out of here!

I gladly started to sweep up all the staples the we had pulled out because my hands were all blistered.  Ahh good thing we don't do this everyday.
Yes, the fresh, clean, and soft new carpet.  I have wanted this for soooooo long.

UGH, I don't like repeats!

Happy to report that now Brooks is having some whole milk and liking it.  He wasn't so sure at first, but now it is going down no problem.

Wind chill advisory here today so we are going to pretend we are boating on the lake in the sun today.

Guilty Pleasure

Any one else love Desperate Housewives?  It is a show that my husband watched too.  So Sunday nights are relaxing after little man goes to bed and we just get to hang out and watch something together.

P.S.  We would like to thanks Tina and her family for watching Brooks this weekend when the rest of us were out for my FIL's 50th birthday.  Brooks went to his first hockey game. (I was kind of sad that it wasn't with me, but there will be more)  He had so much fun with her boys.  They had a game plan and had the laundry basket out to give him rides around the house.  And did I mention that he took a 2hr nap and he neeeeeeeever does that at home.

*******Hope everyone had a great weekend
and look forward to a good week ahead**********

Sensory play.

When I was teaching preschool I always said that I would have my own "sensory table" and look what the man in brown brought early for Christmas.  Since Brooks is so young and doesn't know the difference from today to Christmas Day we opened it right up and got to playing!

I wish it was deeper  but for his age it works perfect.  There are so many thing that you can fill it with to play in.  Some one of a kind ideas will be added to my shop at the New Year.
Here is to having a WARM and COZY Weekend.

Bubbles for Christmas,

This is the best bubble blower around. It makes lots and lots at the same time and with little to no effort.  The bubble solution is neat too because I was told that it is a sugar base and so they don't pop on contact.  You can catch them and it is easy for little ones to track them in the air.  I got two for my little guy and they should be here next week.  I also go some other goodies because right now everything is 25% off and FREE SHIPPING!  When does that ever happen?  So last night as it was like 0 degrees out with the wind chill I visited their website,(GYMBOREE )and got some goooood deals.  And if you have a coupon they will let you use that too. (Thanks Bethany for the coupon code!)  So more money saved, (unless you weren't going to spend any in the first place?).  Oh- well I always just buy bigger sizes then if they don't need it right now.  Hope this made your Sunday a little bit more cozy.  Shop from home I say when the weather gets bad.

Goodies for guests.

"Play date" tomorrow!  Or parallel play date with one year olds.  I am sure that we will all have fun as we always do.  Pics to come after!

How can you get anything done when the craft room looks like this?  Gosh I wonder who did all this?

I did manage to wrap up a project today.  My mitten garland is alllll done and hung on the fire place.  Now only if I could find the time to finish a scrapbook before another one starts.

*************************************************************************************
Snow snow and more snow this weekend.  Good thing that the snowblower is working again.  I guess there is one good thing that comes from living in a smallllllllll town, they deliver.  The local shop fixed and delivered it back to us.  Stay WARM!

Does anyone else have a big green frog in their living room?

Thanks Aunt Abby for the great birthday gift.......I play blocks and read books in here.

I have always wanted to do a scrapbook page "every dog needs a boy" and this time I got the pic.  Other times they just stop what they are doing when I get the camera out.

P.S. Don't forget to vote for your favorite cupcake card over at mylilyeden.blogspot.com
I will tell you which one is mine after it is all over!

~The snow has stopped now if only the UPS guy had been here I could be on my way to pass on the goods to the next person, and be on my way......getting dog food (not really fun) but we would be out of the house.  Too quiet around here......~
