Good Bye Summer......

We spent out last long weekend at the lake in the sun.
Brooks got his first jet-ski ride from Grandma.

Enjoyed some last few swings.

Oh and all the snacks. All this kids does is eat, eat, eat. Maybe that is because he watches his dad?!!!

One last pier walk.

We emptied the fridge and left feeling kind of sad. We will be back to rake leaves but it will be with pants and long sleeves on. Love you summer. Next year don't take so long to show up!

Just a quick note: Make the most of the last weekend of summer we may see. We know we will be!

(No he really doesn't keep those glasses on. I was just quick with the camera. I can only wish he would.)

Happy Labor day weekend!!!

WE ARE BOTTLE FREE!
All you have to do is spend one weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's where mom forgets parts to the bottles.
When we got home they where all gone.
NO MORE.
Yeah Brooks!

Hi, it is Friday again.
Been subbing two days this week.
( Got to spend some time with Emily's nieces!!)
Here are a few things to catch up on.

This boy wants to help with everything.
Not sure how much help he is here!

Cousins where all at the lake house with us.
These are all my cousins.
See the trend.....boy....boy......boy.....boy (14 in a row now.)

Being an Ohmen you get a birthday week.
This is the ongoing joke.
Here is how I started my week,
flowers from my little man Brooks.

Lastly, I have been working on putting book pages on the walls under the stairs in the basement.
This is his reading cubbie/hide out.

Note: I have to tell you that he hasn't been a fan of having diapers on lately. Yesterday he took his diaper off at nap and when I went in to get him there it was on the floor and the bed was wet. Later in the day I thought that he was playing with Morgan and come to find out he was but with no diaper on. And then last night when I went to tuck him in he had no diaper on. What is with this. It is funny for now. Lets hope it is just a phase.

Have a good weekend!

Our first parade!
Corn-fest Parade.
Every kids dream.
Fire trucks right in front of you.
I wasn't sure if he would like the parade.
I have tried many things that I thought where cool and he wants more to do with the stroller than what is going on right in front of him.
(The splash park)
Success this time!

He was mesmerized the whole time (1 1/2 hrs).

He also caught on real fast to picking up the candy and putting it your bag.

Lots of help from Gma and Great Gma.

Once cousin (my cousin) Noah came with his friend it was like I didn't need to be there.
He is one of the big guys now.
TEAR!!

Lamas in a parade?

My home town is know for the Midget Races.
They are race cars.
We grew up going every Sunday of the summer.
They race on a dirt track and you would often get hit with dirt during the races.
It is a great memory from growing up.

Of course you always have a clown in your face.

Aunt Abby was in the parade.
It was fun to see her doing her thing.
Thanks for the candy bags.

Oh and this might have just topped off one of the best nights for Brooks.
Diggers!
Boys will be boys.

Love you little boy!
Glad you had so much fun.

A favorite right now is frozen OJ.
Give him one of these and it is a distraction while you get lunch ready.
Perfect!

Hope today is a rainy productive kind of day......we shall see.

Ok, are you ready?
Come on a tour with me.
Carpet is IN!

We had our first dinner in the basement last night.
Isn't it cute, you can sit and be all comfy on the couch while you eat at the table.
We love it!

The playroom is ready for exploring.

You have trucks, blocks, puzzles, balls, people, and animals.

A play kitchen with food.

Dress up and dolls.
Yes I know he is a boy but you can't blame me for trying.

This is the face we saw all night.
Brooks and Morgan are having a blast running round in all the open space.
That makes all the hard work worth it.
There are some finishing touches to do and projects to finnish.
I will show you more about that later.

We are back!
Check out what we have done over the last 5 days away......

Ate watermelon:

Hid in the pantry.

Poured water.

Swam in the lake with Noah.

Marked how big Brooks is at 20 months. (8-8-09)
Next summer we will mark him again and see how much he has grown.
"There is O" (That is his new thing......"there is O, there is S")

Putting on sunscreen all by our self.

Thanks for looking!!! We can't believe that summer is coming to an end very soon. Hope you are making the most of it too.

*Carpet on Wednesday in the basement! We are very excited. Pics to come.
